Creating the Document
Determine the size of the postcard you want to create. You will find the stock in ready to print section. The postcards are available in different sizes but the 6×4 is common size. Measure the stock size before setting up document in the software.
Open new file by selecting File> new Document. In the new document section, set the page height to 4 inches and width to 6 inches or if you want to create the postcard of different size then select the height or width depending on it.
Change the “Number of Pages” to “2.” Set all the margins to 1/4 inch and click “OK.”

Designing the Postcard
At the back of postcard must be according to the standards of your country’s mailing service. Add the image in front of the postcard by selecting File and Place available in the list. Browse to find the picture in your device for the front of the postcard. Select the image and select Open. Click anywhere in the front side to place the image.
Change the size of the image to fit within the ¼-inch margins. Select the image and click on Object, Scale and Transform. Enter the percentage in Scale Y and Scale X boxes. Make the adjustments using the handles available on the image box.

Select “Window” option from the menu and make sure that the layers have a check mark net to it. If you do not find the check mark then click on the layers and open the panel. Click “Create a New layer icon given at the bottom of layer panel and add a new layer to it.
Make the new layer as the working layer by clicking it in the panel. Select the Text tool and ass text to the layer. Click and drag the tool in the document to create the text box. Now enter the message you want to insert with the image. Select font and change the size in character panel.

Head to the page 2 (back of the postcard) of the document. Draw a box and indicate the position for the stamp. Create the space for stamp by selecting rectangle tool and draw a 1-inch square at the right corner on top. Make sure that the square is drawn within the margins of postcard. Set fill to none option in it. Set the stroke to 0.5 points in the stroke panel. Set the color to 7 percent black.
At the bottom of card draw a rectangle and extend it up to 0.625 inches from the car’s bottom. Set the fill to 7-percent black and set the stroke to none. This area is left for the bar code applied by the Postal services and you should let this pace blank.
From the left edge of the postcard, draw vertical line of 3.25 inches. It should not extend from the top margin to the tinted bar code area. Set the color to black and stroke to 0.5. This lien divides the card into two portions where you can enter the located on left side of line. Also, the portion for mailing address must be written on right side of line.
Select the “Type” tool from the options available and write your return address in upper left corner. Inside the quarter-inch margin so the printer will not cut-off the text at the time of printing the card. Leave the space of left side blank for writing message.
