OC stands for Original Character, and it is merely a character that someone created. An OC Template is a character template in a fanwork that is not in the source media but has been created by the fanwork’s author. This template is used for your character, which you are going to use in your story. It includes all details about your story character to make it look more real.
How to Make a Template
Creating a new and exciting character for your story is magical. You breathe life into an interesting and unique character, and it is so highly crucial for writing a coherent and logical story. An OC helps you to make sure that your characters seem real and authentic. You can decide about the level of the bio details of your characters, and often it makes sense to detail them out as much as possible. This will not only give you a better understanding of the potential role of your character in your story but also helps you to describe situations the character is involved in. If you want to create a real-looking character for your story, you need to remember below listed things:
OC Template Long
Character Name: Obviously, this is simply the name of your character, which you are going to give your character in your template.
NickName: Not required in a template, but you can add it for your character.
Age: This is important in an OC because it will categorize what age group your character should be around, or if it is in particular schooling like junior or high.
OC Template Detailed Sheet
Birthdays: This is not necessary for an OC template of your character, but if you want, you can add it.
Species: Species in and OC template are suitable for describing your character, such as human, Neko, Demon, or whatever you want.
Family: Having a family will tie your character into having relationships with other characters in the RPs.
OC Template Bio
Occupation: Having an occupation is necessary as it will keep your character busy like other characters who are having either work hours or off-time.
The job of your Character: If your character has a job, you should describe it in your OC occupation slot, things such as Store clerk, Mercenary, or Rule of the underworld are some of the many jobs that your character can have.
Gender: Select whether your character is male or female. Be descriptive in the difference between not being male or female.
Hair: Describe your character hair color, type, and how long is it
Eyes: Describe your character’s eyes, such as eye color, thick or thin eyelashes, and eyebrows details.
Skin Appearance: Describe your character skin, such as skin color, is it tanned or pasty? Do they have rough skin or smooth skin like most of the anime characters?
Height: Give details about your character height. It is essential because if your character is short, everything will appear very big and intimidating.
Weight: It is also important because it can change your character’s speed and natural strength.
Body Structure: Your character’s body structure will affect their general movement and appearance. Bigger size characters will appear more intimidating.
Preferred Weapon Choice: Select your character weapon choice and describe what does your character enjoys fighting with. You can choose between guns, scythes, or their fists. If you select a weapon option, add the weapon name, its description and abilities, durability, and weight. These details will contribute to its effectiveness.
Tattoos: Describe if your character has a recognizable tattoo, such as angel wings tattoo, a dragon tattoo, or a tear under the eye. Tattoos will add a particular spice to your character that will distinguish them from others.
